We decided to drive to Sacramento California this weekend to go visit Curtis' grandma Stevens. We don't get to visit as often as we would like, but when we can we love to go out. She lives in a little farming town just outside Sacramento. She lives on approx. 200 acres. Her main crop is tomatoes, but she rotates so this year she had two fields of tomatoes and one field of wheat. The wheat was already harvested and they were harvesting the tomatoes while we were there. Plus we were able to bring home a box of her tomatoes. I am going to be so sad when there are all gone. The kids had a blast! Usually we come down and take a day to go somewhere like San Fransisco or last year we went to Six Flags Animal Kingdom. This year we decided to just stay and visit and relax. It was wonderful, even though I did do a lot of homework. Which I needed to do to get ahead so I don't drowned!! The kids loved going out into the field and running around and grandma has a big tree swing they played on. Plus she had a really cool game the kids remember from last time called coral the pigs. They played it like 100 times. LOL!!
The tomato harvesters. Its amazing to watch the machines and how fast they harvest.
The boys playing on the swing and of course playing swords.
Earlier in the day grandma gave the boys a jar of change to split and take to Walmart to buy something. They bought these plastic bow and arrow sets. They spend the whole night and all the next day bird hunting in the field.
