U2 "360" Concert

Curtis, me, Aunt Nancy, and Dustin went to the U2 Concert.

After weeks of cold and rainy weather.

It finally clear up for the concert.

We were afraid it would be freezing,

but it wasn't too bad.

The concert was amazing.

The stage, props, and the lights were crazy.

It was really long and late (on a weekday)

I know we are old.

We picked the kids up from the babysitter at midnight.

It was worth it.

So much F.U.N.

It was too dark for pictures,

but this is a pic off the jumbo tron!

Conner's Field Trip

Conner's class went to Red Butte Gardens today.

I went with as a chaperon.

Due to some scheduling conflict they

were only given a tour. Usually they did a

science project with plants.

So it was short and sweet.

After the tour we went to Sunny side Park

and ate lunch and let the kids play.

Conner and his buddy Kolton were in the same group.

Conner smelling the plant that smelled like lemonade.

Kids running around like crazy animals.

This was mine and Mr. Vierra's group.

This was the only wild animal they saw.

Conner was sad he didn't see any rattlesnakes.

Since he was told that rattle snakes live there.

I am really glad we didn't see one :-)

We hammed it up on the way to the park.

Conner eating lunch with all the girls.

Him and the girl next to him shared each others lunches.

Tender!!

They grow up way to fast don't they!

MARKET DAY!

Coltin's class had a Market Day.

I was able to volunteer and help out.

It was so much fun.

Each kid was given a profession with pay.

Then they had to go buy a house, car, etc.

They got to see how money doesn't grow on trees.

After they bought all the necessary things,

which included putting money in the bank.

They were able to go buy fun things,

like pets, skateboards, and even McDonald's.

I loved seeing some kids be frugal

and others blow right threw their money.

Coltin was a scientist. (see the weird scientist hair?)

After buying his house, car, and motorcycle.

He also bought a lizard and a EAGLE.

Really?

Then the kids got to count how much money they had left.

It was a great learning experience.

They also had a ton of fun doing it.

Coltin had $60.00 in the bank

and $20.00 in his wallet when he was finished.

He started out with $300.00 so I would say he did pretty good.

MARLINS

Conner got drafted by the Marlin's.

Curtis is the coach and is doing great.

It amazes me how great he is at coaching.

He is so patient with the kids and

know just how to get on their level to teach them.

Conner is a little stud muffin.

He eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball.

We were driving in the car the other day.

I was trying to talk to him and he says to me

Ssshhh mom I am daydreaming

that I am playing in a baseball game.

He is doing awesome.

He can play any position and he is one of our best hitters.

We are so proud of him.

He's always the one that is down and ready!

Can't wait until kid pitch.
(starts this week!)

He really lives for the after game snack!

UGH! YANKEE'S

Coltin this year got drafted to the Yankee's!

(I know it hurt a little to have a Yankee uniform in the house)

His team got off to a rough start but

they are getting it together.

Coltin has become their catcher and he

is doing awesome.

He's the only one on the team that will hustle to the ball.

Otherwise kids just steal and steal and steal.

Coltin has stepped up and saved the team.

Now if we can just build some confidence with batting.

He did great last year with batting.

This year he hesitates and second guesses the pitches.

Either way he makes us proud.

Even for a Yankee!!!

True ball player.

In the dugout, with the gear on, eating seeds!

Looks like a pro huh?

Easter Morning!

The Friday night before Easter.

Conner comes up to me and asks,

"Mom, is the Easter Bunny real?"

I say, "Conner do you believe the Easter Bunny is real?"

he says, "Yes!"

I say, "That is all that matters then."

He agreed and went to bed.

The next day I get a text from a neighbor that says,

"Why are you telling Conner the Easter Bunny is not real?"

I say, "I don't know what you are talking about."

I told her the exact conversation I had with him.

Easter Day, I am telling Curtis

about the conversation with the Neighbor.

He says, "Oh! I am the one that told him he's not real!"

"What?"

Curtis tells me that Conner asked him the same question

and how he explained the Easter Bunny is not real.

But you can still pretend that he's real.

When I told Curtis that Conner went

and told the neighborhood.

Curtis wanted to kick himself in the butt!

Kill Joy!

Note to Parents-

If you are going to tell your kids the truth.

Then tell them to not tell the neighborhood the truth!!!

Lesson Learned!

Easter Morning

The kids still love Easter (whether they believe or not!)

It's still getting presents.

This year they got some Lego's, a movie, and a DS game.

We had an Easter Egg hunt in the house.
Then we had breakfast
and enjoyed being lazy the rest of the day.
Then we had dinner with Curtis' family.
It was a great Easter!

Another Funny Story!

We allowed the boys to watch Passion of the Christ
(Obviously fast forwarding the really gruesome parts)
We wanted them to really understand the meaning of Easter.
I think most kids understand that Jesus died on the cross for us.
But I wanted them to understand how hard it was for him.
So that they would appreciate it more.

So we watched it and Coltin (being older) really took it to heart.
After watching it we discussed the movie.
Coltin says,
"Mom, Is it bad if I don't ever want to watch that movie again?"
I said, " No it's not bad. I don't really like watching it either.
We just watch it every once in a while to
remind us to appreciate what Jesus did for us."
He says, "Well I guess I will have to watch it 1 more time with my kids"
(tender)
OK to the funny part.
So Conner (being young still) kind of doesn't understand.
In the discussion we are talking about Jesus coming back.
Coltin of course serious and asking serious questions.
Conner says, "So when Jesus does come back.
IS HE GOING TO COME TO EVERY STATE?"

We had to explain it's not like Santa Claus.
LOL! Kids and their minds.
Gotta love it!

EaStEr PaRtY

My family always gets together in April for the many

Birthdays (my mom's, brothers and sister, and nieces).

This year my mom planned an Easter Party.

We were suppose to have it at the park,

but the weather didn't cooperate.

So we had it at my house.

We colored eggs and had a Egg Hunt.

It turned out really fun (I know surprising!)

The little kids went first.

We just threw the eggs and candy on the lawn.

Someones Butt Crackin'

This is my cousin's little girl.

I was taking a picture of her eating the candy during the hunt.

She had 3 chocolates in her mouth before it ended!

She is soo stinkin cute!

We hid the older kids eggs.

They had to work for their eggs!

This is some serious egg hunting face!

Then we took the 8 older kids and hid 8 eggs really hard.

We put money in them ranging from

$1-$2 dollars and 1 egg had $5.

Them they were allowed to find 1 egg

and whatever was in it is what you got.

Guess who got the $5.00?

COLTIN (Seriously!)

He didn't even brag! (not possible!)

This is Conner pouting because he only got a dollar.

Then he later saw that he got $2.00.

My kids are really spoiled!!!
